How it works

Send a link to a collaborator to get their notes on the same timeline, or keep everything on your device. Your call.
What your collaborators see
When you send a share link, your collaborator opens a clean player page with your track. They can play, pause, and scrub as an anonymous listener. To leave notes they sign in - a free account is a single step - and the shared file drops into their own library where they can annotate it exactly like any other file. Frequently asked questions
Is Mix Notes free?+
Yes. Mix Notes is free and ad-supported. A free account is required to use the app - it takes one step to create and unlocks cloud sync across devices and the ability to share mixes with clients.
Do I have to upload my audio anywhere?+
No. By default your files stay in your browser (using IndexedDB) and never leave your device. If you sign in, files you choose to sync go to our secure cloud storage. If you create a share link, that specific file is uploaded for your collaborators to hear - nothing else.
Can clients add their own notes?+
Yes, with a twist: if the recipient has a free Mix Notes account the share link adds the file to their library and they can annotate it there. If they don't sign in, they can listen and play/pause but can't leave notes. The simplest flow is to ask the recipient to sign up once so feedback actually lands.
What file formats are supported?+
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, AIFF, WMA, and ALAC. Large files get encoded to MP3 when you share to keep transfers fast.
Is there a mobile app?+
There is an iOS app on the App Store for legacy users. The browser version is now the primary platform and works on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, and Windows. You can install it as a PWA to get a native-feeling app icon.
